Robbery Suspect Jumped From Balcony To Balcony At Tampa Hotel: Watch
An armed robbery suspect made "dramatic attempts to escape" after being found at a Tampa hotel, the Hillsborough County sheriff said.
TAMPA, FL — An armed robbery suspect was arrested Monday after trying to evade deputies at a Tampa hotel, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. (Watch bodycam footage from the incident below.)
Jorge Garcia-Palacio, who was involved in multiple armed robberies across the Tampa Bay area over the past few weeks, was found at the Godfrey Hotel on Rocky Point.
When detectives knocked on his door, he initially opened it, but quickly closed and locked it after seeing them.

Garcia-Palacio tried to escape by jumping from balcony to balcony and descending from the sixth floor to the second floor, the sheriff’s office said.
He was eventually arrested by deputies and faces multiple charges.

"This suspect's dramatic attempts to escape were no match for our dedicated deputies," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "The strategic coordination between teamHCSO and the Tampa Police Department ensured his capture while prioritizing the safety of our community."
