Robinson High Going Red for American Heart Association

This just in from officials at Robinson High:

On Thursday, October 18, at Robinson High School, hundreds will gather to see the match-up between Robinson High School and Spoto High School.

But this year will be a little different.

Rather than Black and Silver on one side of the field facing  the other, this year there will be red. A "Red Out" will take place to bring awareness to heart disease, the No. 1 killer of Americans.

During the game, we will honor and remember loved ones while helping to fight heart disease and stroke. Teams, students, and community members are encouraged to purchase and wear an American Heart Association “Rock the Beat” shirt to school and to the game in honor of loved ones. T-shirts are being sold at school during all lunches and in the main office from October 7 -18.

Shirts will also be sold after school in the carpool line from October 15 -17. Additionally, shirts will be sold during the Red Out game. The cost is $12 per shirt, but Robinson Knightmare Club members can buy one discounted shirt for $7.

Cardiovascular disease kills more people in the United States than the next five leading causes of death combined, including cancer. The Red Out is a great way to celebrate the life of family and friends we have lost to this devastating disease while making a difference by helping to save others. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association and will help to fund research and education.
