1. A Sarasota elementary school was placed on a temporary, limited lockdown after a parent threatened to leave his job and confront an assistant principal for telling his children they couldn’t come to school without wearing masks. The parent apologized for scaring the school and said he was emotional. (Wink News)
2. AdventHealth Tampa continues to pause elective procedures that are not urgent to increase beds, resources and maintain enough staff during the Delta variant surge. Patients will be notified if their procedure will be canceled. (Tampa Patch)
3. Nature Coast EMS in Citrus County says the situation is dire after 10 paramedics and EMTs turned in their resignations in one week. A combination of low pay and high-stress from the Delta variant has strained the staff. Administrators are asking the county for help with federal funding so they can pay more. (WFLA)
4. The liquid oxygen shortage may have a long-term impact on water in Tampa. The city may have to buy water from Tampa Bay Water, the regional wholesaler of water, or impose restrictions on residents. (Fox 13 Tampa Bay)
