School Bus Driver Ran Through Red Light, Hit Car: FL Highway Patrol
A Hillsborough County Schools bus driver hit a car after driving through a red light in the Tampa area, FL Highway Patrol said.

TAMPA, FL — A Hillsborough County Schools bus driver ran through a red light Thursday afternoon while heading west on West Hillsborough Avenue and hit a car at an intersection, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The bus driver, a 23-year-old Clearwater man, hit a car, driven by a 50-year-old Tampa woman, that was heading south on Countryway Boulevard around 2:30 p.m.
No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, FHP said.

The car’s driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to a nearby hospital.
The bus driver was uninjured in the crash, which shut down portions of the intersection until just after 5 p.m.
