- Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has charged a man wanted for murder since 1984, according to authorities. The man was arrested and extradited to Florida from San Diego, California. The suspect evaded law enforcement for 39 years before being captured. (Tampa Patch)
- Cass Street Coffee Company is opening soon inside of Floridan Palace Hotel in downtown Tampa. The coffee shop will be in partnership with Local Mini Donut Co. The hotel is located at 905 N. Florida Ave. (That's So Tampa)
- A Sarasota restaurant owner has pleaded guilty to hiding more than $725,000 in sales from the IRS, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 1, according to authorities. He faces up to three years in prison. (WFLA)
- A sinkhole has re-opened on a conservation property in Seffner where a man died previously in 2013. It is located at 240 Faithway Drive. The site is closed to the public and secured with two layers of fencing. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is making sure no one enters the area. (ABC Action News)
- The costs to taxpayers projected for a proposed commuter ferry service with the Cross Bay Ferry between south Hillsborough County and MacDill Air Force Base have risen 45 percent to more than $76 million. The daily service usage would also rise by nearly 90 percent with a larger vessel and more trips added during off-peak hours. Ridership has continued to spike recently on the Cross Bay Ferry between Tampa and St. Petersburg. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times, Free: Fox 13 Tampa)
