1. City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor's Hispanic Heritage Committee is celebrating the finalists of the annual Hispanic Heritage poster contest by displaying 12 winning posters at Tampa International Airport between P.F. Chang's and Hard Rock Cafe. The winning posters will be on display until October 15th. (Tampa Patch)

2. Florida hotels have lost nearly $5 billion in revenue since 2019. Tampa has lost 61.6% of revenue compared to 2019, while Orlando has suffered an 81.5% drop. The hospitality industry is pushing a Save Hotel Jobs Act to help it recover. (WFLA)

3. St. Petersburg’s Shine Mural Festival is returning from October 15th to October 24th. Visitors can make their way through the city's public art with an audio tour app. Local artists featured include Jared Wright, Jason Harvin, Michael Fatutoa and Reid Jenkins. (Creative Loafing Tampa)

4. St. Petersburg will mandate COVID-19 vaccines for new city employees, however current employees will not be mandated to take the vaccine. Outgoing Mayor Rick Kriseman said mandating current employees to get vaccinated would "create division and impact the city's ability to provide its people services." (WTSP)

5. A 58-year-old nurse with the Polk County school system has died from COVID-19. It is not known whether the nurse was vaccinated. She was one of several people at REAL Academy in Lakeland that contracted COVID-19 since the new school year began. (Fox 13 Tampa)
