- An investigation is underway after a 7-year-old was shot and killed on Courtney Campbell Causeway on Tuesday morning. The incident happened at the 8500 block of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, according to a preliminary investigation. Another victim was also shot in the hand and taken to the hospital for stitches. - Hillsborough State Attorney Suzy Lopez, who was appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis amid a controversial battle with Democrat Andrew Warren, will seek the position in 2024. Warren could also potentially run for his seat that was forcibly removed from him by DeSantis. Lopez has already launched an attack on Warren in her announcement. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)
- Home prices in the Tampa area have finally started to decline. The decline is the first one since 2017. The decline was only a 1 percent decrease in median listing prices year-over-year despite a 30 percent increase in supply. Analysts partially blame rising interest rates. - Monopoly: Tampa Edition is coming soon from Top Trumps USA. The public is being asked to submit favorite Tampa businesses, nonprofits, and landmarks before the release of the board game. Recommendations can be sent to tampa@toptrumps.com. (WFLA)
- Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer is running for re-election in 2024. It would be the fourth term for Latimer, who has been in office since 2012. No one has challenged Latimer as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the Tampa Bay Times. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times)
