Sustany Foundation builds buzz with festival at Straz Center

The event drew hundreds for a night under the stars while supporting sustainability on the Tampa Riverwalk.

Last night was the Sustainable Buzz event at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. The event drew a crowd that enjoyed food and drinks in the name of supporting sustainability efforts in Tampa Bay. Numerous organizations and local stakeholders were present in the event organized by Sustany Foundation.

Sponsors included Hillsborough County, Tampa International Airport, and Southport Financial Services, among many others. The group is currently working on a plan to have the largest, single-day tree planting ever in Hillsborough County on January 19th, 2020.

Sustany Foundation believes "companies and communities that have woven sustainability and social responsibility into their day-to-day practices are more competitive, more profitable and more sustainable."

"Over 600 people enjoyed a darn near perfect evening outside, on the river, under a spectacular moon. The Buzz was a huge success and would not have been possible without the generosity of local restaurants like Zydeco and Poke Rose."

"We were delighted to share our Community Partners’ sustainable initiatives with the hope that everyone leaves our celebration thinking about how they can better protect and preserve this unique environment we call home. Let’s plant some trees!" said Andrea Cheney, CEO and Co-Founder of the Sustany Foundation.
