Sweetgreen Opens Second Fresh-From-The Farm Restaurant In Tampa

The newest sweetgreen at Hyde Park Village, 722 South Village Circle, will open Tuesday.

TAMPA, FL — On Tuesday, sweetgreen will open its second Tampa-based restaurant after introducing Tampa to the restaurant concept in December with the opening the sweetgreen at 301 W Palm Ave., in the Heights District near Armature Works.

The newest sweetgreen is located in Hyde Park Village at 722 South Village Circle.

For every meal sold on opening day, sweetgreen will donate a meal to Feeding Tampa Bay to nourish families in Hillsborough County experiencing food insecurity. Feeding Tampa Bay provides food to nearly 1 million food insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida.

To celebrate opening day, guests will receive a gift from Posie's Flower Truck when they purchase a bowl and commemorate the day with at the photo booth sponsored by Dreams2Reality. There will also be a crispy rice treat giveaway for the kids. Additionally, sweetgreen has commissioned a mural painting for the restaurant by local artist Ashley Cassens.

The 2,310-square-foot restaurant will accommodate 12 diners inside with banquette seating and 44 diners outside on the restaurant’s patio with picnic seating. Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

“We’re excited to bring fresh, healthy meals to Tampa, a lively market that we’ve been eager to tap into for a long time,” said sweetgreen co-founder and chief concept officer, Nicolas Jammet. “With Tampa being one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., sweetgreen is a convenient option that reflects the active and forward-thinking mindset of the community .”

sweetgreen prioritizes quality ingredients, with fresh produce delivered each morning for its menu of core and seasonal salads, warm bowls and sides.

Regional partners include Brick Street Farms and Gulf Coast Sourdough, both based out of St. Petersburg.

The restaurant also sources ingredients from across Florida, including grape tomatoes from Lipman Family Farms in Immokalee, honey from Keez Beez in Key West and juices from Perricone Farms in Vero Beach.

The Tampa locations feature such selections as the Miso Bowl with a savory medley of seasonal root vegetables and Miso sesame ginger dressing; the Harvest Bowl with roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, roasted almonds, warm wild rice, shredded kaleand balsamic vinaigrette; and the Chicken Tostada Bowl with blackened chicken, tomatoes, raw carrots, cilantro, tortilla chips, goat cheese, warm quinoa, baby spinach, sweetgreen hot sauce and lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette.
