TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors who might be hoping to see winter make a return are going to have to wait a bit longer to pull out their sweaters and jackets. According to the National Weather Service, the region is in for another balmy week with highs most days in the 80s.

Tuesday kicks the workweek off with mostly sunny conditions and a high in the low 80s anticipated for much of the region. Partly cloudy conditions are expected to settle in overnight with a low in the low 60s forecast.

Weather service forecasters anticipate Wednesday and Thursday will both bring sunny daytime skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Overnight lows both Wednesday and Thursday are expected to fall into the low 60s.

Friday brings the potential for a little break in the pattern with a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast. The day’s high should only climb to the upper 70s. Thunderstorm chances do move in during the overnight hours Friday when a low in the lower 60s is once again forecast.

Rain plays a strong role in the forecast heading into the weekend, but forecasters don’t anticipate the storms will cool things down too much.
