Tampa Bay Weekend Weather: Mostly Sunny With Chance For Sprinkles

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors prepping for the long Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend are likely to enjoy the forecast. Mostly sunny skies and highs into the low 80s are likely in most parts of the region each day, but that doesn’t mean a few drops of rain won’t fall.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will kick the weekend off with mostly sunny skies and a high in the upper 70s to low 80s. Rain chances do creep into the forecast heading into the afternoon and early evening hours. A partly cloudy night is anticipated with a low around 60 degrees.

A mostly sunny Saturday is anticipated with the high again climbing to the upper 70s to low 80s. Rain isn’t in the forecast for Saturday, according to the weather service. Partly cloudy skies are expected in the overnight hours though when the low should drop into the upper 50s.

Sunday is forecast to be another mostly sunny day with a high in the upper 70s expected. Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated in the overnight hours with a low in the upper 50s.

Martin Luther King Day Monday is expected to be a near repeat of Sunday. A high in the upper 70s is forecast with mostly sunny skies. The overnight low should only fall into the 60s.

Folks hoping for chillier weather will likely have to wait some time for a return of cooler temperatures. According to The Weather Channel, daily highs will likely remain in the upper 70s to low 80s until the last week of January when stronger rain chances and highs in the mid-60s are forecast.

No severe weather is in the forecast for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. For those with beach plans, however, the persistent red tide bloom off the west coast does remain a concern with fish kills reported in the last week along Pinellas County’s coastline.
