Tampa Business Leaders Spend Day Framing 2 Homes For Habitat For Humanity Families

This year's CEO Build attracted more than 40 business leaders who donned hardhats and helped construct two affordable homes.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa's chief executive officers escaped the confines of their offices Friday and spent the day outdoors building dream homes for families in need during Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County's second annual CEO Build.

This year's CEO Build attracted more than 40 of Tampa Bay’s most influential business leaders who donned hardhats and helped construct two affordable homes in the Forest Hills community in north Tampa.

One of the nonprofit’s signature philanthropic and volunteer initiatives, CEO Build supported the dream of homeownership for the families of Tampa residents Tammy Bush-Jordan and Ada Adorno.

Beyond volunteering with the build, participants also contributed funds that assisted with underwriting construction materials for the homes. Construction design focused on long-term sustainability as well as energy and water efficiency. The three-bedroom, 2 1/2-bathroom homes are expected to be completed this summer, followed by a home dedication celebration.
