False Alarm Caused Tampa International Evacuation, Officials Say
A Sunday evacuation at Tampa International Airport was triggered by a false alarm.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa International Airport’s Airside F terminal has reopened following a Sunday evacuation.
The airport tweeted just after 2 p.m. that issues related to Airside F had been "resolved." Passenger screening and flights had resumed.
Confirmation of the evacuation was tweeted by the airport just before 1:30 p.m. Jan. 1.

The evacuation, which impacted Airside F only, was caused by a "false alarm related to a bag in a screening device," the airport explained shortly before 2:45 p.m.
