TAMPA, FL — The Florida Aquarium will host Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and several children from Tampa Parks and Recreation for the unveiling of SeaTREK, a new in-water program.

The mayor will join the kids for an underwater adventure Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

The Florida Aquarium’s SeaTREK is a new program aimed at engaging underserved communities to help create a healthy bond with nature and the water.

A helmet diving experience, SeaTREK is a guided underwater walking tour designed for non-swimmers and guests ages 10 to 80-plus.

Children will have the opportunity to experience the ocean ecosystem. They will have an up-close encounter with a variety of marine life.

The 20-minute, in-water experience will also be offered to the public starting on Saturday.

The SeaTREK experience will take place in the aquarium’s 100,000-gallon Heart of the Sea exhibit.

It requires no swimming experience or specialized skills and allows guests to experience a diverse variety of colorful marine life.
