Tampa Motorcycle Cop Recovering From Serious Injuries Caused In Crash

A driver struck the motorcycle officer as he was heading east on Adamo Drive.

TAMPA, FL — A Tampa police officer is continuing to recover from serious injuries suffered in a crash Thursday morning while he was riding his motorcycle east on Adamo Drive.

A 54-year-old woman driving a red Honda Accord crossed southbound along Adamo Drive, cutting in front of the officer and colliding with the police motorcycle, Tampa police said.

The 38-year-old officer was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries, including a possibly fractured femur.

The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on scene, cooperating with the investigation. She will be cited for her role in the crash.
