Tampa Students Invited To Submit Artwork, Poetry With Recycling Theme

The city of Tampa has extended the deadline for its 3Rs Art & Poetry contest to Wednesday, Feb. 8.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa kids in grades three to 12 have a chance to show their commitment to recycling and reducing waste while having their artwork and poetry displayed in the city.

The city began hosting the competition to promote environmental stewardship in young people while conveying the city's message about the need to recycle and reduce waste.

Students enrolled in a school within Tampa city limits or are homeschooled in the city along with clients at the MacDonald Training Center's art program are invited to submit artwork or poetry based on the recycling theme.

A first-place winner will be selected from an elementary school, middle school, high school and the training center, and have their artwork displayed on a city recycling truck for a year or have their poetry displayed at Julian B. Riverfront Park next to the Tampa River Center Building in downtown Tampa.
