TAMPA, FL — A 41-year-old Tampa woman was killed in a crash involving a car and a Mack garbage truck Thursday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:51 p.m., a 19-year-old driving a Toyota Corolla was headed north on Nebraska Avenue in Lutz.

At the same time, a 46-year-old Gibsonton man was headed south on Nebraska Avenue.

At the intersection of Sinclair Hills Road, the Corolla turned left into the path of the garbage truck, said troopers.

The crash caused serious injuries to the 41-year-old woman who was riding in the Corolla, and she died of her injuries at the hospital.
