OpenTable and KAYAK consumer research surveys show 73 percent of Americans would book the same hotel again because of the dining experience in its restaurant. Among other findings:

• 58 percent of Americans feel that hotel restaurant offerings have gotten better over time due to the quality of food (60 percent), atmosphere (57 percent), and service (56 percent);
• 47 percent of Americans have booked a trip to visit a specific restaurant.; and
• 45 percent of Americans have found themselves posting more about their restaurant meals than the sights on their trip.
