1. Tampa City Council has taken the first step toward approving an amendment to city codes that would require developers to build more sidewalks in the city. The amendment was request by City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. A second vote for the amendment is set for December 2nd. (Tampa Patch)

2. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo on Tuesday defended his decision not to wear a mask when attempting to meet with a state senator who told him she had a serious medical condition and is being treated for breast cancer. Ladapo said he cannot communicate clearly "when half of my face is covered." (CBS 4)

3. South Tampa’s popular Timpano Italian Chophouse is set to reopen in Hyde Park Village on Monday, November 1st. The restaurant has been closed since summer 2020 and will restart with dinner service only and then bring back lunch and brunch in a few weeks. (Creative Loafing Tampa)

4. A Halloween bar crawl is coming to downtown Tampa this weekend with local group Downtown Crawlers. Participating venue include Park & Rec TPA, District Tavern, Yeoman's Cask and Lion, Harpoon Harry's, and American Social Tampa. Guests are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costume. 5. Celebrity Chef Robert Hesse has opened Fo’ Cheezy Twisted Meltz in downtown St. Petersburg. Hesse has participated in two seasons of Hell’s Kitchen and has appeared multiple times on the Food Network. (WFLA)
