Here are the top stories in Tampa today:

1. City of Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan is set to retire after 31 years with the agency. He said it has been "the honor of a lifetime." He was appointed by former Mayor Bob Buckhorn as Chief of Police in 2017 as the city was looking for a Seminole Heights serial killer suspect that was arrested weeks later. (Fox 13 Tampa Bay)

2. The family of 24-year-old James Gorham is asking for help finding the person responsible for fatally shooting him. Gorham was a student at the University of South Florida and was shot in Ybor City in April. (Patch)

3. $7.7 million is being allocated to address the mental health needs of students in Hillsborough County. Student services staff members referred more than 14,300 students last school year for mental health services or assistance. (Bay News 9)

4. A woman is in critical condition after a Monday morning shooting at Brooksville BioSpine Institute in Hernando County. The gunman was also shot and is in emergency care as well. It is believed that the two individuals are known to each other, according to authorities. (WFLA)

5. Tampa Bay Lightning owner and chairman Jeff Vinik and his wife Peggy have pledged $10 million to an expansion of the Lightning Community Heroes program over the next 5 years. The program honors volunteerism and grassroots local heroes who have created a positive impact on the community. (WTSP)
