TAMPA, FL —The Tampa Police Department will host its 35th annual Black History Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Auditorium, 4001 W Tampa Bay Blvd.

This year's theme, "The Divine 9: A Legacy of Service and Commitment to the Citizens of Tampa Bay," will focus on the importance of historically Black fraternities and sororities that have launched community service initiatives to meet the needs of the community as a whole and the needs of Black residents specifically.

"The Divine Nine" is a name for the National Pan-Hellenic Council which includes nine African American Greek-lettered organizations focused on community awareness and action through educational, economic and cultural service activities.
