USF vs. ECU Football: Everything You Need To Know

TAMPA, FL – Oddly enough, another storm is in the path of USF’s next opponent. On Tuesday, Sept. 26, Tropical Storm Maria approached the North Carolina coast, home to East Carolina University.

As of Tuesday evening, neither school nor the American Athletic Conference has announced any disruption to the teams’ football game scheduled for this weekend. If the game was affected by Tropical Storm Maria, it would be the third game affected by a major storm in USF’s season. Hurricane Irma disrupted the Bulls travel plans to Storrs, Conn., for their game with UConn before the storm arrived, then cancelled their game with Stony Brook after the storm hit Florida.

Either way, the Bulls are looking to continue its winning ways when they take on the Pirates, who won their first AAC game this past weekend against UConn. USF is coming off a 43-7 drubbing of Temple on Thursday night, avenging the Bulls’ loss last year that kept USF out of the AAC title game.

Kickoff Time: Saturday, Sept. 30 at noon Eastern

Point Spread: As of Tuesday evening, USF is favored between 23 and 25.5 points over ECU in the books listed on OddsShark.com

Rankings: After its resounding victory over Temple, USF shot up four spots to No. 18 in the AP Top 25 rankings and stood pat at No. 17 in the Amway Coaches Poll. ECU is not ranked in the Top 25 in either poll.

Records: USF comes in with a 4-0 record overall, and a 1-0 record in AAC play. ECU has a 1-3 overall record and is 1-0 in conference play.

Stadium Entry Inspection: All attendees are subject to having their bags, pocket book, camera bag, etc., inspected by staff security. Bags larger than 10 inches by 10 inches by 10 inches will be allowed. Attendees can check bags and strollers in at the customer service tent across from the club/upper level elevators inside gate 7 and at a second location across form Gate 2.

Prohibited items: The following items are prohibited at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium:

• Artificial noisemakers
• Alcoholic beverages
• Flags on poles
• Outside containers (cans, plastic bottles, etc.), coolers or food items
• Smoking in seating areas, stairwells, restrooms and any enclosed area of the stadium (there are permitted smoking areas at Gates 3 and 8)
• Solicitation/flyers
• Umbrellas
