Woman Dies Following Shooting In Tampa; No Arrests Made, Say Police

Tampa police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman Sunday evening in the 1900 block of West Main Street.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman Sunday evening in the 1900 block of West Main Street.

Police were called just after 6:30 p.m. The victim, a woman in her mid-20s, had already been taken to a nearby hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died at the hospital.

Homicide detectives are gathering evidence and developing leads in the case. Witnesses said the shooter is a Black man in his mid-20s to early 30s, about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a light complexion and his hair in twists.

Police said he fled on foot south from the shooting.
