100 Electric Bikes Available To Rent In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — One hundred electric bikes arrived in St. Petersburg on Tuesday through Coast Bike Share.

Residents and visitors have more transportation options throughout downtown St. Pete with these e-bikes that can rent on a pay-per-ride; $1.25 to unlock and 35 cents per minute. Monthly and annual memberships are also available starting at $25.

To rent an e-bike, scan a QR code though the HOPR Transit app available in IOS and Android.

"We’re excited to continue the good work in making bicycling and walking easier transportation choices for our St. Pete residents and visitors," Mayor Rick Kriseman said. "With the addition of e-bikes, more people will be able to see and experience all that makes St. Pete a great city to live, work, and play."

This bike share program is a public-private partnership between the city of St. Petersburg and HOPR. Coast Bike Share is provides a total of 800 shared bicycles across Tampa, St. Pete and USF.

“Since its launch in 2014, Coast Bike Share’s mission has been to connect communities," Joe Freeman, regional operations manager said. "Introducing electric bikes for riders will really further that mission."
