Argument Outside Tropicana Field Turns Violent For A Rays' Fan

A victim was stabbed by the suspect when their argument turned into a physical fight. The suspect tried to get away but was stopped by cops.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two Tampa Bay Rays' fans got into an argument Monday following the game in the Tropicana Field parking lot, St. Petersburg Police said.

It escalated into a fight in parking lot 6, investigators said. Suspect, Alexander Garcia, 19, is accused of getting a knife from his car and then stabbing the victim in the side. Garcia tried to run away but was stopped by police traffic units directing postgame traffic. Garcia was arrested for charges of aggravated battery, according to officers. The victim experienced a non-life-threatening injury.
