Child Drowns in Motel Pool
The 5-year-old boy was attending a birthday party at the pool and under the supervision of a 13-year-old sibling.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating the drowning of a 5-year-old during a birthday party at the Mosley Motel pool.
Police said 5-year-old Jadan Justice was playing in the pool at a birthday party Saturday, when he slipped from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end, where he drowned.
Jadan's parents, police said, were inside their unit at the motel, but had placed him under the supervision of a 13-year-old sibling, who was in the pool at the time.

The victim was last seen playing with several other children near the shallow end of the pool, but had apparently slipped down to the deep end undetected.
Motel resident Shawn Collins was standing next to the pool talking with the party's hostess, when he looked into the pool and saw Jadan at the bottom of the deep end.

He immediately dove in and pulled the child from the bottom and got him to the side of the pool where witnesses administered CPR until Fire Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and took over.
Jadan was transported to All Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the investigation is active, though no charges have been filed.
