66th Street Median Changes: Virtual Public Hearing Set

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg area residents who want to learn more about proposed changes to the median along 66th Street between Pasadena Avenue and 58th Street North will get their chance Thursday. That’s when the Florida Department of Transportation intends to stage a virtual public hearing addressing the topic.

The public hearing will take place as a webinar over the internet. It will also be presented concurrently at two locations. The time is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8.

Residents who wish to attend, are asked to register online to view from their own homes or offices. Registration is available by following this link.

For those who do not have access to the internet, the webinar can be viewed at the following locations:

• St. Petersburg College Health Education Center Auditorium, 7200 66th St. N., Pinellas Park
• FDOT’s Flamingo Conference Room, 11201 N. McKinley Drive, Tampa

The hearing will open at 6 with a presentation set to begin at 6:15 p.m. Following the presentation, FDOT intends to take comments from those at both viewing locations and people who opt to view remotely.

FDOT’s proposal calls for creating a new traffic separator at the following locations:

• Plaza 66 driveway
• 48th Avenue North/Country Road 16 and 49th Avenue North
• 50th Avenue North
• 51st Avenue North
• Planet Fitness and State Farm insurance driveways
• 55th Avenue North
• 56th Avenue North
• 58th Avenue North
