9 Recruits Complete Pinellas Corrections Academy Training

The recruits completed a total of 420 hours of training during their studies.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – While June is often a time to celebrate with caps and gowns, it’s also time to honor those who have completed vocational studies as well.

Nine Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy recruits were recognized for completing the Corrections Academy training during a graduation ceremony at the St. Petersburg College Allstate Center on Wednesday, June 14.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri presented the Sheriff’s Office recruits with their new badges and administered the Oath of Office to the group, which included:

During the academy, the recruits completed a total of 420 hours of training at the college.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office periodically offers full sponsorships through the Corrections Academy. If accepted for sponsorship, the Sheriff’s Office will pay for academy tuition, books and Florida Department of Law Enforcement certification exams.

Applications for sponsorships are accepted with the “Detention Deputy Recruit” position is posted on the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office website at www.pcsoweb.com/administration/human-resources/current-openings.
