Helping Children

All Children's Hospital treated more than 9,800 children last year with a staff of more than 250 pediatric physicians. In all, the hospital provides 43 medical and surgical programs, including a pediatric emergency center, heart center, pediatric cancer program and nationally designated Cystic Fibrosis Center.

Hospital History

The hospital was founded in 1926 as the American Legion Hospital for crippled children. The hospital has expanded and evolved over time. A newly rebuilt 259-bed hospital opened in January 2010; it not only focusses on health care but on advancing treatment, education, research and advocacy in children's health.
