Morean Arts Center Offers Holiday Break Camp

Join the Morean Arts Center for Holiday Break Camp for Kids. Offered December 26 through 30, children are transformed into multi-media artists with the help of the Morean’s most talented art instructors. Children will explore a variety of mediums in both a guided and self-guided experience.

Every day, each camper will explore a new theme with amazing art creations to bring home. The daily art themes for Holiday Camp 2011 are: Picture Me Portrait Painting; Wacky Animal Sculptures; Stamping, Printing and Super Star Bookmaking; Up-cycled Keepsakes and Weave-it, Wrap-it, Wear it.

The cost for Holiday Break Camp is $145 for the week and will start at 9am each day and last until 3pm. Before and after care is available at an additional fee. The camp is geared for children ages 5-10.

In addition to educational opportunities for children, the Morean Arts Center also focuses on art experiences for adults at every level. Registration is now open for Winter Session 1, which begins on January 9. The Morean Arts Center, Center for Clay and Glass Studio & Hot Shop collectively offer over 40 classes in a variety of mediums from clay and drawing, to jewelry and metal sculpture to digital arts.

The Morean Arts Center proudly showcases many of the region’s most talented art educators and artists who lead the classes, workshops and special programs. In addition to an exceptional faculty, the Morean Arts Center boasts some of the best art education facilities in the Southeast with the Center for Clay, Hot Shop and jewelry making studios.

The Morean Arts Center and its four facilities will be offering extended holiday hours to the public:

December 26-December 30
Chihuly Collection – 9 AM – 8 PM (last entry 7:30 PM)
Morean Arts Center - 9 AM – 7 PM
Glass Studio & Hot Shop - 12 PM – 7 PM (last demonstration starts at 6:30 PM)
Morean Center for Clay - 10 AM – 5 PM all week long.
All facilities close at 4 PM on Dec. 24th and Dec. 31st.
