Armed Man Critically Injured In Deputy-Involved Shooting In FL: Police
Three deputies shot a St. Petersburg man who threatened his domestic partner and her two teenage children with a gun Friday, police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man armed with a gun was critically injured in a deputy-involved shooting Friday night in St. Petersburg, authorities said.
Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic incident on 47th Avenue N. around 10:30 p.m., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
When they arrived, a woman met them outside with her teenage son and daughter. The girl told deputies that her mother’s domestic partner, Jeremy Lyle Reed, had pointed a gun at her inside the home.

The deputies moved the woman and her children to a safer area north of the house and set up a perimeter around the home to prepare for Reed’s arrest.
Reed, armed with a handgun, came out of the house and began to run toward the deputies and the victims, police said.

Three deputies — Deputy Jessee Creaser, Deputy Dylan Schultz and Corporal Stuart Kellman — fired at Reed, hitting him, according to SPD.
He was brought to a local hospital with critical injuries. No one else was injured in the shooting.
The deputies involved in the shooting are on paid administrative assignment pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
