Arrest Made In St. Pete Murder
St. Pete Police have announced an arrest in the Tuesday shooting death of Melinda Soria, 35.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting that left a woman dead.
According to authorities, Joshua Thompson was brought into custody late Tuesday night on second-degree murder charges. Thompson was located in the 4500 block of 19th Avenue South after police say they connected him with the shooting death of Melinda Soria.
Soria, 35, was found shot to death around 8:25 a.m. July 18 in the 1100 block of James Avenue. Police have not said what might have motivated the shooting.

Thompson was being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail Wednesday morning.
