Battle of the DJs Returns to St. Petersburg
The second annual event will feature DJ and dance team battles.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Pinellas County residents who think they have what it takes to throw down on the ones and the twos are invited to test their skills in St. Petersburg.
The Successes Unlimited Women and Youth Business Center will present the 2nd Annual Battle of the DJs: How to Prevent Crime in the Black Community on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Campbell Park, 601 14th St.
The event is co-sponsored by the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The second-year contest will feature contests between local DJs and local dance groups as well as an essay and poster contest for middle and high school students. The theme of the youth contest is “What should be done to prevent crime in the black community?”
Prize money will be awarded to contest winners and free school supplies will be distributed.
DJs interested in participating must register before the event by e-mailing your name, address, and phone number to successunlimitedstpete@gmail.com or by calling Angie Harris at (727) 776-7345 or Tamara Howard at (727) 687-3259. Participants must be Pinellas County residents.
