Bicyclist Killed In 54th Avenue North Crash: Troopers
Florida Highway Patrol investigated a crash that killed a bicyclist in St. Petersburg Sunday afternoon.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 51-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed by a car in St. Petersburg on Sunday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to investigators, the victim rode his bicycle in front of a car on 54th Avenue N eastbound west of 48th Street N at 12:15 p.m. The 65-year-old driver of Connecticut tried to avoid colliding with the man but was unable to avoid the bicycle.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died, troopers said.
