Campaign Expands To Encourage Single Plastic Use By Residents

Reduce Your Use Tampa Bay campaign founded by Hillsborough County in 2019 has expanded into Pinellas County.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Reduce Your Use Tampa Bay campaign founded in 2019 by Hillsborough County is expanding to add Pinellas County, the city of St. Petersburg and Keep Pinellas Beautiful.

The expansion kicks off with several September events and programs to encourage Tampa Bay area residents and businesses to take small steps to reduce the impact of single-use plastics on the environment. To learn about the September events, programs, and challenges. The partnering organizations will roll out community events and social media campaigns across the region during September, with a focus on the plastic pollution problem, what local agencies are doing, and how businesses and individuals can get involved.

Businesses who make a commitment to reducing waste can also officially join the Reduce Your Use campaign to have their successes featured. Businesses can partner by submitting their pledge here. Residents and businesses on both sides of the bay are invited to visit ReduceYourUseTampaBay.org to take a pledge to reduce waste and see tips on how to get started.
