Child Found Dead In Father’s Car Outside Preschool: St. Pete Police
The father went to pick his son up from daycare just to find the 1-year-old had been in the back of his car all day, St. Pete police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 1-year-old boy was found dead Wednesday afternoon in his father’s car outside a St. Petersburg preschool, authorities said.
Officers responded to the parking lot of Kindercare Bayfront Child Development Center at 800 6th Ave. S. around 5:15 p.m., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Detectives learned that when the father went to pick up the child at the daycare, they told him the boy hadn’t attended that day.

Not long after this, the child was found in the back of his father’s car, where he had been all day, the sheriff’s office said.
This is an active investigation to determine what happened and whether any charges will be filed, the agency said.
