Details Emerge In St. Pete Shooting Death

St. Petersburg Police have released more details in a Monday night shooting that left a 34-year-old man dead.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — As the St. Petersburg Police Department investigates the Monday night shooting death of a 34-year-old man found injured on a street, the agency has released more information in the case. Authorities say Timothy Karl Davis Jr., was found wounded near the intersection of 11th Avenue South and 23rd Street South just after 6:30 p.m. May 15.

The first officers on the scene arrived about 90 seconds after the shooting was reported, the agency wrote in an email to media. Those officers found Davis in the street and began performing CPR until St. Petersburg Fire Rescue arrived and took over.

“Despite those efforts, he died,” the agency said.

While suspect information is not yet available, police say Davis’ death does not appear to be random. Detectives also received information that Davis may have been involved in a dispute with another person a few days ago.

“We would like to speak to anyone who knows about this to determine whether it was related to the shooting,” the email noted. Investigators are also asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Anyone with information about Davis’ activities over the past few days or the shooting may call 727-893-7780.
