Did You See Tornadoes in St. Pete?
Did people put themselves at risk to take videos and images of the funnel clouds in northeast St. Pete Monday?
Several small funnel clouds formed over north St. Petersburg at dusk Monday, including near Weedon Island and Shore Acres.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado alert until 8:45 p.m., and several residents caught images and videos of what appear to be small tornados forming. Some people even seemed to put themselves at risk by taking short videos of the slow-moving twisters in the skies above them.
They were roundly chastised on Facebook later, but these storm chasers did capture some dramatic moments Monday night.
Said Rick Stricker about the video seen above: "And the cameraman is standing right underneath. Cool video, dumb cameraman."
