Elderly Couple Targeted In Armed Home Invasion

The search is on for an armed man who forced his way into a Seminole couple's home Wednesday afternoon.

SEMINOLE, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Wednesday afternoon armed home invasion in Seminole that left a 72-year-old suffering from a minor injury.

According to the agency, Robert Martin left his home on Oak Avenue North for a trip to Tampa Jan. 11 and returned around 3:45 p.m. Shortly after the 72-year-old arrived at home, he and his wife, Kathleen Zingler, 71, heard a knock at their front door. The two answered it only to find a man armed with a black handgun, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

The man forced his way into the home and threatened both Martin and Zingler, deputies say.
