Family Of Missing Woman Makes Plea For Help: St. Pete Police

The woman was last seen July 16 and her car was found abandoned days later with items that don't belong to her inside, St. Pete police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The family of a missing 42-year-old woman, Kelli Fisher, made a public plea for the community’s help with finding her during a Tuesday afternoon news conference at the St. Petersburg Police Department headquarters.

“We deserve to have answers. We deserve to have answers about her whereabouts,” a family member said in a video of the news conference shared by WTSP.

Detectives have been searching for Fisher since mid-July.

She was last seen July 16, when she left the home she shared with her aunt in the 1700 block of Prescott Street S. in her aunt’s car, but never returned, police said in a news release. Her aunt reported her missing on July 17.

Officers found her car abandoned on July 18 in an empty lot near 803 28th Ave. S., about 1.5 miles from her home. The front driver’s side door was open and three cell phones were found in the car, as well as a small amount of cash on the dashboard, police said.

Investigators don’t believe the items belong to fisher, a member of the department said in the WTSP video.

On Sunday, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a home owned by Fisher’s family, where she spent time, police said. The fire is under investigation.

While her family said that the missing woman suffers from some mental health issues, she has never gone missing before and it’s unlike her to not contact her family or boyfriend.

“We know the streets talk. So, the streets know what’s going on,” a family member said in the video. “So, we just need the streets to do the right thing and speak up.”

Fisher stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair.
