Father Accused Of Fatally Shooting Son After Fight: Police

St. Petersburg police have a suspect in custody who is accused of shooting his son during an argument at a St. Pete home.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 30-year-old man was killed when his 62-year-old father allegedly shot him early Friday morning inside a St. Petersburg home, police said.

The victim, Matthew Reda, 30, and his father, Jeffrey Paul Reda, 62, got into a fight before 1:38 a.m. at 541 15th Street N, investigators said. The victim was shot at 1:38 a.m.

Matthew Reda was dead when officers arrived at the home, according to authorities. St. Pete police have the suspect in custody, detectives said.
