Pinellas County Woman Is Super Rich From The Fastest Road To $1,000,000 Scratch-Off Game

A woman who purchased her lucky scratch-off game in Pinellas County felt so excited she couldn't sleep the night before claiming her prize.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg woman has a fat bank account after winning $1 million from a scratch-off game, a Florida Lottery news release said.

Nellie Lumpkin, 66, claimed a top prize from The Fastest Road to $1,000,000 game. Lumpkin chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000.

"When I realized I won, I immediately told my family and we made plans to go to Tallahassee the next day," Lumpkin told the Lottery. "I was so excited about claiming $1 million that I couldn't fall asleep."

Lumpkin purchased her winning ticket from St. Thomas Food Mart, 935 49th Street North in St. Petersburg. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The $30 game, THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000, launched in February 2020 and features 155 top prizes of $1,000,000 and over $948 million in cash prizes. The game's overall odds of winning are one-in-2.79.
