ICYMI: Florida UFO Sightings Reported In 2016

The National UFO Reporting Center keeps records on all reported sightings with dozens coming in from Florida over the past month or so.

There were 23 UFO sightings reported across the Sunshine State in December 2016. More than 100 other sightings were reported in communities all across Florida throughout the past year, according to the National UFO Reporting Center.

We’re not here to say one way or another that there are or aren’t UFOs. After all, there are many explanations for what folks see in the sky. One of the more unusual sightings in the West Central Florida area in December included an “otherworldly presence” in Clearwater that involved a triangular-shaped figure on Dec. 23. A “giant ball of light falling in the northern sky” was also spotted in Dade City on Dec. 16 while a Lutz resident reported a “red star formation” on Dec. 31.

The National UFO Reporting Center has been around since 1974. It investigates UFO sightings and has put together a list of more than 90,000 sightings around the world since its inception.
