Food Bank Needs Volunteers In St. Petersburg
Florida Dream Center is looking for help during the weekdays and Saturdays to help with unloading donated foods and packing foods.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Florida Dream Center's food bank in St. Petersburg needs volunteers.
Its mobile food bank operates six days a week, and provides food to Pinellas County's smaller food banks, assisted living facilities and churches. The Dream Center is 90 percent volunteer-based. Volunteer slots needing to be filled are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will help unload food truck and sort food. Volunteers are also needed on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Volunteers will be asked to pack food boxes for the organization's Adopt a Block sites.
“We are only able to offer food that we receive through donations," Melody Bacon Bunch, food bank director of Florida Dream Center, said. "As a previous restaurant manager, it is a passion of mine to offer the best possible experience to those receiving our food. We have a good team that assists with sorting and going through the food to ensure the quality is great, we are always looking for more volunteers that may be interested in assisting us with the food donations."
