Four Hurt in Three-Vehicle Crash

A St. Petersburg motorist struck a Nissan driven by a 76-year-old St. Pete Beach woman. Her vehicle, in turn, hit another car that had stopped at a stop sign.

Four people were injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash in South Pasadena.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office:

Jeanne Cinotti, 76, of St. Pete Beach was driiving her Nissan Altima north on Pasadena Avenue. She was making a left turn on to Hibiscus Avenue, when her car was hit by a Ford Explorer heading south.

Wesley Middleton, 42, of St. Petersburg, was behind the wheel of the Ford Explorer. When it struck the Altima, the impact forced the Nissan into a Ford Expedition, driven by 41-year-old Elena Pleskov of Gulfport. Pleskov was stopped at a stop sign on Hibiscus Avenue.

Cinotti and her passenger, 88-year-old Michael Cinotti of St. Pete Beach, were taken to Bayfront Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.

Middleton was treated at Palms of Pasadena Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 44-year-old Joel Sanchez of St. Petersburg was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with what initially were thought to be life-threatening injuries. His injuries, however were non life- threatening.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Expedition were not hurt.

Officials say speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

One lane of southbound Pasadena and Hibiscus Avenue at Pasadena Avenue South were closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

The Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
