Free Tai Chi Class Through St. Pete's Fitness In The Park
Fitness in the Park is a wellness program offered through the city of St. Petersburg that provides different exercises every Tuesday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — If you're stressed because it's holiday season or because we're still in 2020, you can learn some relaxation techniques through a free tai chi class offered through Fitness in the Park
Every third Tuesday of the month, tai chi, an ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced as a graceful form of exercise is offered at Northwest Park, 5801 22nd Ave. N.
According to the Mayo Clinic, tai chi involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels.

The benefits tai chi offers, according to Mayo Clinic health officials are listed below:
- Decreased stress, anxiety and depression
- Improved mood
- Improved aerobic capacity
- Increased energy and stamina

Every Tuesday, a different exercise program is offered to residents through the city of St. Pet
Classes are taught by local fitness professionals in an assortment of exercise formats. The goal in this program is to challenge participants to try something new in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
The tai chi class is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
