Higher City Fees Coming Your Way?
St. Petersburg administration is recommending code fee increases that would generate more than $500,000.

To meet its revenue protections for the 2013 budget, you could be paying more in fees, if approve by City Council Thursday.

Proposed Fee Increases

- Implementing a convenience fee of $2 per transaction for each online or telephone payment made to the city. Projected annual revenue for this increase, $325,000
- Creating a special assessment lien filing and releasing fee of $35. Projected annual revenue for this increase, $30,000.
- Increasing the current special assessment/utility account line research fee from $35 to $55. Projected annual revenue increase for this increase, $175,000
- Changing the security alarm permit application fee from $10 to $25. Projected revenue from this increase, $25,000.
The fee increases were included in the recommended budget previously approved by council. To change city code, council has to approve the increases again.
