What's Open and Closed During the Holidays

Here's what is open and closed through the holidays, as well as the residential trash pickup schedule in St. Petersburg.

The Pier is open 365 days a year. On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, first floor shops are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours for Pier restaurants and attractions vary; contact individual restaurants for hours or visit www.stpetepier.com.

On New Year's Eve, The Pier will open at 10 a.m., with holiday festivities from Noon to 1 a.m., including two fireworks shows sponsored by the city of St. Petersburg, at 9 p.m. and midnight.
 
Other Holiday Happenings

The Coliseum doors open at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 31, for the "Swingin' the New Year" event from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.   The Enoch Davis Center will be open January 1 for the Imani (Faith) Kwanzaa event, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
 
The Mahaffey Theater will be open Monday, December 31, at 9 p.m. for the Q Year's Eve Dance Party, presented by Q105, and featuring the Hunks of Funk, champagne, and fireworks at midnight.

RESIDENTIAL SANITATION PICK-UP:  
During the holiday weeks of December 24 and December 31, the only change for residential trash pickup is that Tuesday collections will be on Wednesday. (Monday, Thursday, and Friday collection days remain the same.) Brush sites will be closed on Christmas and OPEN on New Year's.  

GOLF COURSES:  
The city's three public golf courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links, and Twin Brooks) will be closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25. All three courses will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24; New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31; and New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1.

EARLY CLOSINGS:
North Shore Aquatic Complex will close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (Dec. 24 and 31). Sunken Gardens and the Coliseum will close at 3 p.m. on December 24 and 31.
The Mahaffey Theater and Titanic exhibit will be closing at 3 p.m. on December 24 and 31.
The city Marina Ship's Store will close at 4 p.m. on New Year's Day, January 1.  

PUBLIC LIBRARIES:   
St. Petersburg public libraries will be closed December 25 and January 1. The West Community Library will be closed Saturday through Tuesday, December 22 to 25 and December 29 to January 1. For more information, visit www.splibraries.org.    Other Services:
For water or sewer emergency service, call Water Resources at 893-7261. For police, fire, or medical emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
