How Do You Rate Gov. Rick Scott?

A newly released poll shows that Gov. Rick Scott is not winning any popularity contests in Tampa Bay's two largest counties, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Most of the respondents surveyed in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties rated Florida's governor as "poor" or "not so good."

A little more than a quarter ranked Scott as just "average."

Less than a quarter thought the governor does a "good" or "excellent" job, according to the Tampa Bay Times-Bay News 9-AM 820 poll.

• 23%: The percentage of respondents who think Scott does a "good" or "excellent" job.
• 27% rank Scott as "average."
• 42% rated the governor as "poor" or "not so good" on the job.

According to the Tampa Bay Times:

Of the two counties, Scott's numbers are substantially worse in Pinellas. While 33 percent of voters rated him not so good or poor in Hillsborough, 52 percent gave him that rating in Pinellas — which just happens to be the home turf of Charlie Crist, the former governor who may challenge Scott in 2014.

The poll was conducted Dec. 5-13 by Braun Research, a national polling firm in Princeton, N.J., that interviewed 521 residents by phone. It has a margin of error of 4.3 percentage points.
