Kubs Win Exhibition Game

Kutchinski takes Kubs to Sunshine City VFW Post 6827 for exhibition victory. Annual Mayor's Game next exhibition Saturday February 10.

"Kutchinski's' Kubs" defeated VW Post 6827, 18-6, in an exhibition game on Saturday, January 27. Exhibition games are regularly scheduled for Saturdays outside the Three-Quarter-Century Club's Tuesday-Thursday IntraClub pennant race.

Although leaving the friendly confines of North Shore Park to visit VFW Sunshine City Post 6827, the Kubs managed victory by jumping to a 5-1 lead early, pushing the score to 9-1 in the fourth and using a bases-loaded home run by Larry McCurdy to put the game safely in the win column holding off a rally by the home team in their last at-bat in the seven-inning contest.

After the contest, Sunshine City Post 6827 hosted hot dogs, chips, and beverages and joined local Little League teams for photo opportunities.

Kids and Kubs next exhibition game will be Saturday, February 10, at North Shore Park, hosting the City Hall Stars in the 47th annual Mayor's Game.
